Eye Wrinkles

Botulinum Toxin treatment

A wrinkle is a fold, ridge or crease in the skin. Skin wrinkles typically appear as a result of aging processes, loss of body mass, or temporarily, as the result of prolonged immersion in water. Age wrinkling in the skin is promoted by habitual facial expression, aging, sun damage, smoking, poor hydration, and various other factors.

Botulinum Toxin treatment for Wrinkles

Wrinkle injection is a very popular procedure approved by FDA for reducing wrinkles and rejuvenating the aging face.
The process of aging and repeated facial expressions, such as squinting and frowning, gradually creates permanent creases and lines which often leave the face looking tired and negative. Wrinkle smoothing injections are a safe and effective way to smooth away these lines and gently reduce signs of aging.
At Celevenus, we believe in a soft approach to wrinkle relaxing, avoiding the frozen look and allowing the patient natural movement and expression.

Crow’s Feet & Infra-orbital (under eye) Lines

Crow’s feet are found in the outer corner of the eyes. They appear more prominent when smiling or laughing. They occur as the skin becomes less elastic with age, combined with excessive sun exposure. Botulinum toxin injections at the side of the eyes are best non-invasive medical treatment to soften the wrinkles and provide a subtle lift.

How well it works *

Immediately after your treatment you are advised to avoid exercise and hot baths to prevent sweating out the Botox. We also recommend avoiding massaging or rubbing the area for 24 hours after the treatment has been injected.
Within 72 hours after treatment, most people will be able to see the wrinkles being partly or completely smoothen out. This treatment is not to stop all expression, but to reduce the intensity of the muscle activity that causes the lines in the areas treated.
The full effect may take up to 2 weeks to be seen. The results may last from 4 to 6 months. It is recommended to receive the treatment twice a year for best results.
*Results vary for individuals

What results do I expect?

  • Fresher looking eye
  • Reduction in fine wrinkles

Eye Wrinkles – Fractional Co2 Laser

Fractional Co2 lasers, also known as Fraxel lasers, are a great option for people looking to improve their skin tone and to reduce wrinkles or scarring. Since they cause less initial swelling, peeling and redness, it is perfect for people who want a laser treatment without weeks of hiding out at home, waiting to heal.

This procedure can greatly improve deep wrinkles, crepey skin around the eyes, severe sun damage, acne scars, and even surgical scars.

How do fractional lasers work?

Fractional Co2 Lasers improve the surface of the skin by creating thousands of tiny “micro-thermal” zones deep under the skin. As the skin heals, it sheds the damaged skin, promotes collagen production, and creates new skin cells. This is often done over a series of treatments, depending on the severity of wrinkles/scarring/sun damage you are trying to repair. If you take good care of your skin after treatments, the results could be permanent. Of course, since most of us aren’t perfect, you might have to go back for future treatments or touch-ups as needed.

Since Fractional Co2 Lasers are less harsh than other more traditional micro laser peels, the recovery time is often much shorter. After a professional resurfacing, most patients can get back to their normal lives (with makeup to hide any redness) in about 3 – 4 days, and skin should be fully repaired in a week time.

What is the downtime?

It depends on the levels that are used, generally on the first treatment most people would have to hibernate for about 3 to 4 days. Many patients elect to have treatments on a Friday, allowing some recovery time over the weekend, as there is a degree of redness and swelling.

How many treatments do you recommend?

Desired outcomes are typically reached in multiple treatment, but we usually recommend a minimum of 3 to 4. The specific number of treatments is tailored to your goals and desired results as well as your lifestyle.

How long do the results last?

The results are both immediate and progressive. Results are long lasting depending on your lifestyle, age, skin condition and skin care regime.

Would that be a one-off treatment?

Yes, but patients like to come back once a year to have a full-face treatment just to clear everything up again.

Eye Wrinkles – Agnes RF

Wrinkles are creases, folds or ridges on the skin. It’s a natural part of the aging process. Age is not the only thing that causes wrinkles. Sun damage, smoking, squinting, smiling and muscle movement also cause facial wrinkles.

Agnes RF is a non-surgical radiofrequency device that can effectively reduce the droopiness of the upper eyelids, crow’s feet and wrinkles as well as improve the overall appearance of the eyes.

How are treatments done?

Agnes RF is a Korea-developed Radio Frequency micro-insulated needle system which is used to pierce the skin multiple times at carefully controlled depths of up to 3mm. The needle delivers heat and radio frequency below the skin’s surface. Collagen production is stimulated, leading to skin firming and wrinkle reduction around the eye area.

What is the process like?

This 30-minute treatment begins with application of numbing cream and local anaesthetic injections around the eye area.

Dr Chau begins by taking the hand piece with the sterile micro-needles to puncture tiny holes around the eyes to deliver radio frequency waves. This treatment is relatively painless.

Recovery time

You may experience some swelling and redness around the eyes for up to 3 to 4 days. The redness and swelling may be concealed by foundation.

How long does it take for improvement?

Most of the benefit appears over the coming months as new collagen is deposited under the skin and the skin begins to remodel its structure.

The best results are seen 4-6 weeks post-treatment and can last 2-3 years. Being non-invasive, you can repeat this 30-minute procedure as often as once a year.

How many treatments will I need?

Benefits from a single treatment may be permanent but this does not mean you can treat everything in a single treatment.

Depending on the severity of your conditions, Dr Chau would recommend a program of 2 to 3 sessions for longer lasting results. You can expect a fresher and younger looking eye after Agnes RF treatment.

Can I combine Agnes RF with other treatments?

Yes, it can be combined safely with various treatments like Sculptra, Filler, Botulinum toxin and even Rejuran treatment. In fact, we find the best results when treatment modalities are combined as each treatment addresses an aspect of aging.

Eye Wrinkles – Thermage CPT

As you age, your skin’s collagen and elastin simply break down faster than your body can rebuild it, causing your skin to lose elasticity – which often leads to wrinkles and pockets of loose, sagging skin. The effects of age are typically and most noticeable around the eyes, where skin is delicate and thin. Over time, it will start to lose elasticity, beginning to droop and wrinkle, even creating heavy “hoods” that make you look older.

Eyelid Thermage is used to non-surgically tighten and lift the eyelid skin. It works best on these problems:

  • Wrinkly eyelids – reduces fine wrinkles above and below the eye
  • “Hooding” – reduces that loose skin on the upper eyelid if it’s mild to moderate
  • Helps to maintain the results of eyelid surgery

Thermage is FDA cleared for the non-invasive treatment of wrinkles and temporary improvement in the appearance of cellulite.   In addition, Thermage is the first and only system to receive FDA clearance for non-invasive eyelid treatments.

The Thermage Eye Procedure helps to smoothen and tighten skin and decrease wrinkles and hooding in the eye area without surgery or injections, with little to no downtime.

Generally, some improvement is immediately visible after a single treatment and continues for up to 6 months.

What kind of results should I expect?

  • Younger looking, “more lifted” eyes and eyes look brighter and tighter
  • Less tired looking eyes as eyes appear more open and alert
  • Easier application of make-up as the newly smooth skin of your eyelids makes it easier to apply eye shadow and eye liner
  • Reduced hooding
  • Softened fine lines and crow’s feet
  • Tauter, smoother contours around the eye
  • Tighter skin with improved tone
