Enhancing Facial Features and Defying Aging Skin (Dermal Fillers eg Nose Fillers)
Everyone would fancy a smoother skin, plumper lips, higher cheekbones and nose, but not many would consider going under the knife to achieve these.
Dermal fillers eg Nose fillers are one of the most popular, non-surgical options for solving aging skin problems and defining facial features.
Dermal fillers (eg nose fillers), also known as “injectables” or “soft-tissue fillers,” do just what their name suggests — they fill in the area under the skin. Fillers can be used to improve or enhance facial skin and structures such as:
• Filling in wrinkles, fine lines and deep creases
• Improving other imperfections like scars
• Filling out thin or wrinkled lips
• Plumping up cheeks to make them fuller and more defined
• Contouring the jaw line and other areas of the face
• Enlarging lips for a fuller, softer pout
• Correcting lip deformities or asymmetry
• Non-surgical nose-job to fill in dips and valleys in the nose bridge (i.e. nose fillers)
• Filling in hollows under the eyes that contribute to dark circles
Types of Fillers
Our dermal fillers (eg nose fillers) consist of hyaluronic acid and calcium based fillers.
Hyaluronic acid can be found naturally in our body. In addition to filling in wrinkles, hyaluronic acid also promotes new collagen growth. Hyaluronic acid based fillers are absorbable, but last from six months to a year or more.
Calcium based filler is an absorbable, synthetic filler which is considered semi-permanent because its effects last for one to two years. How it works is simple: collagen, a protein that gives skin its structure, forms around the microspheres in Radiesse upon injection and firms the skin. The FDA approved Radiesse filler for treating wrinkles and folds that are moderate to severe.
Dermal filler (eg nose filler) procedures are generally performed in our clinic on an outpatient basis. Prior to the treatment, topical numbing cream will be applied on to the face. During the actual procedure, our doctor will give you a series of skin injections, the number and depth of which will depend on what you’re trying to accomplish.
What To Expect
Some patients may experience injection minor site pain, redness, bruising, bleeding, or swelling which should subside within a week.
After the filler treatment, you can usually return to your regular routine right away. Avoid massaging or apply pressure to the treated areas. For nose fillers, avoid wearing spectacles or sun glasses that presses on the nose bridge.
