Cellulite

WHAT IS CELLULITE?

Cellulite is not just about subcutaneous fat, but rather the structure of the skin. It is situated under your skin. Cellulite is also known as orange-peel skin. When this fat pushes up towards the top layer of your skin through your connective tissue, it gives your skin the dimpled and lumpy appearance. Cellulite is most common in the buttocks and thigh area, but can also appear on your arms, belly and hips.

WHAT CAUSES CELLULITE?

The exact cause of cellulite is unknown. Some factors appear to be linked to the chance of having cellulite. Weight gain and poor diet may increase the development of cellulite. Hormones and the genetic predisposition of slowed circulation are the leading causes. In other words, a woman can be at her ideal weight and still have cellulite while a woman who weighs more can be dimpled-free.

CELLULITE REDUCTION

In Celevenus, we are using Venus Legacy, ilipo X Cell and Thermage CPT to reduce bumps and dimpling around the buttocks and thighs, resulting in a smother, slimmer silhouette.

Removing cellulite have yet been confirmed by scientific research but improving the overall look and texture of the skin is possible.

There are certain infrared, radiofrequency and laser treatments that use heat to tighten the collagen bands and break up the fat cells, giving a potentially smoother look. Ultrasound can also be used to target pockets of fat in conjunction with lasers to tighten collagen bands. However, again, results are temporary and not permanent. They can only temporarily achieve a reduction in appearance of cellulite.
