FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER

Fractional CO₂ laser is a non-surgical treatment that targets a wide array of skin aging issues and is suitable for most skin types. This is suitable for individuals seeking healthier-looking skin with minimal downtime.

Fractional CO2 lasers can potentially reduce wrinkles, scars, blotchiness and other imperfections on the skin’s surface.

HOW DOES FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER WORK?

Fractional Laser CO2 is a non-invasive laser treatment that uses fractional photothermolysis to penetrate the skin layer. This process may promote collagen production, which can help improve the smoothness and evenness of your complexion.

DROOPY EYE LIDS – FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER

Women with droopy eyelids treatment before and after

This non-surgical eyelid lift treatment utilises fractional laser technology to tighten minor excess skin on the eyelids, reduce signs of ageing and fine lines around the eye area, and renew the skin. Subtle results may be seen after the first treatment, with skin quality improving due to new collagen and elastin growth.

FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER EYE LIFT TREATMENT

The treatment is relatively fast, typically taking around 10 minutes, and requires the application of a topical numbing cream for about 30 minutes. After the treatment, you may experience initial swelling and redness, which should subside in a few days.

Fractional CO2 laser treatment can provide noticeable improvements. It removes old skin cells to reveal newer, more youthful cells. Additionally, it heats the layers underneath to promote collagen production, which can help the skin in the treated area heal with a smoother and more even appearance. After several sessions, you may notice that your eyelids appear more lifted.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE RECOMMENDED?

Desired outcomes are typically reached in multiple treatments, but we usually recommend a minimum of 3 to 4 sessions. The specific number of treatments is tailored to your goals, desired results and lifestyle.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

The results are progressive. Results may be long-lasting depending on your lifestyle, age, skin condition and skincare regime.

NECK WRINKLES / CREASES – FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER

Fractional CO2 lasers, also known as Fraxel lasers, can improve deep wrinkles, crepey and weathered skin on the neck.

HOW DO FRACTIONAL LASERS WORK?

Fractional CO2 lasers aim to improve the surface of the skin by creating thousands of tiny ‘micro-thermal’ zones deep under the skin. As the skin heals, it sheds the damaged skin, promotes collagen production and generates new skin cells. This treatment is typically performed over a series of sessions, depending on the severity of wrinkles and creases you are aiming to address.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME AND RESULTS?

The downtime after treatment depends on the intensity of the levels used. Generally, most people may need about 3 to 4 days for initial recovery.

Desired outcomes are typically achieved over multiple treatments. We usually recommend a minimum of 3 to 4 sessions. Using suitable skincare products after treatments may help prolong the results.

SCITON MICROLASERPEEL®

Sciton MicroLaserPeel® is a laser resurfacing treatment designed to help improve the appearance of your skin. It may assist in restoring balance to your skin tone and smoothing skin texture. This treatment can also potentially improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and acne scars.

MicroLaserPeel® might be suitable for you if you are looking to address signs of ageing such as wrinkles, age spots, scarring or uneven skin texture.

HOW DOES MICROLASERPEEL® WORK?

MicroLaserPeel® uses a beam that scans over a treatment area to remove a very thin layer of skin. By removing the top layer, some of the damaged cells that commonly cause the skin to look aged and tired are eliminated. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The results after the MicroLaserPeel® process can include healthier skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved skin evenness.

AMOUNT TREATMENTS NEEDED FOR SKIN RESURFACING

Noticeable improvements can often be seen after just one treatment; however, the number of treatments needed may vary from patient to patient. Many patients achieve their goals after two to three treatments that are spaced 2 to 3 months apart.

At our aesthetic clinic, Dr Chau can personalise a plan based on your specific needs and may choose to combine it with other aesthetic procedures to further customise your treatment. The procedure usually lasts from 15 to 20 minutes.

COMFORT LEVEL

One of the potential advantages of skin resurfacing is that it generally causes minimal discomfort because it does not penetrate very deep into the skin. For most patients, a topical numbing cream is typically sufficient.

WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE IMMEDIATELY AFTER SKIN RESURFACING TREATMENT?

A sunburn-like sensation may be noticed in the treated area for a few hours after treatment. Swelling may also be present as a short-term aftereffect. Peeling or flaking of the tissue can occur as a result of the treatment, typically starting 36 to 48 hours afterwards.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SKIN AFTER THE TREATMENT

Patients will be advised to moisturise often to hydrate the skin and escalate the healing process. They can use a suitable product they already own or follow recommendations provided by our aesthetic clinic for post-treatment care.

Patients are also advised to use sunblock to minimise the chances of post-inflammatory pigmentation due to exposing the sensitive treated area to direct sunlight.

RECOVERY PERIOD

Healing typically takes up to 4 to 5 days. The procedure can be performed on a Thursday or Friday, allowing you to return to work the following Monday. Minor sloughing may occur on the second day, and redness usually begins to fade by the third day and is often hard to notice by the fourth day. The duration of these effects also depends on how you care for the treated area, such as moisturising regularly and avoiding direct sunlight as much as possible.

WHEN SHOULD YOU EXPECT RESULTS?

Within 4 to 5 days, your treated skin may feel smoother, and acne scars, fine wrinkles, and pores may be less noticeable. Results can vary depending on your condition and the number of treatments. Dr. Chau will provide you with detailed information about post-treatment care and expected results.

MICROLASERPEEL® AND FRACTIONAL CO2 LASER CAN BE USED TO TREAT:

  • Open pores
  • Acne scarring
  • Surgical scars
  • Fine lines and wrinkles (including around the eyes)
  • Skin tone and texture on the face, neck, chest and hands
  • Stretch marks

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

The next 3 to 6 months may bring further improvement as the deeper layers of the skin continue to produce new collagen. Results can be long-lasting and will depend on factors such as your age, lifestyle, skin condition and skincare regimen.
