HIKO - Nose Thread Lift

Non-Invasive Procedures Originating from Korea

HIKO – Nose Thread Lift is one of the non-invasive procedures originating from Korea that can be used to heighten the nose bridge, giving it a natural elevated look.

The latest PDO and PCL threads can even be used to enhance the nose tip. Something that cannot be done with dermal filler injection. The result is a more natural looking, structured nose than the traditional method of dermal fillers.  It also lasts longer.

HIKO NOSE THREAD LIFT PROCEDURE

Hiko Nose Thread Lift takes only less than 15 mins and can be performed under local anaesthesia.  Dr Chau will insert threads through a tiny puncture.  The thread anchors themselves to gather the underlying tissues and secure themselves in the desired position.  After the thread dissolves, not only the holding effect remains, but the natural collagen production is also stimulated.  Depending on individual, different number of threads will be used.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Originating from Korea, nose threads are made of PDO (Polydioxanone) or PCL (Polycaprolactone) material. Depending on individual, different number of threads will be used.

When placed down the midline of the nose (through the tip), these threads increase the height and straightens the bridge of the nose.  This increase in height and straightness is due to the added volume of the threads.

IS IT PERMANENT / HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Nose thread lifts typically last for 12 – 18 months and a repeated procedure can be done after 1 year to get a more lasting effect.   The thread material dissolves over time and is absorbed and secreted naturally by the body.

Thread lifts also stimulates collagen synthesis under the skin and some people might notice that some effect of the thread lifts persists longer.

NOSE THREADS VS NOSE FILLERS

Many patients come to our clinic for nose augmentation.  Over the years, nose fillers have become the norm, but nose thread lifts have become increasing popular.  Nowadays, patients will usually ask which is more suitable for them, nose fillers or thread lifts.

Every individual’s nose is different, and some noses are more suitable for thread lifts, while some will benefit more from fillers.  A combination of threads and fillers are sometimes used for a more dramatic result.  The option of threads or fillers will depend on your objective and desired outcome.
