MEDICAL light THERAPY
Developments in technology have introduced more options for Medical Light Therapy, including Sciton Broadband Light (BBL) machine.
At CeleVenus, we have a variety of treatments available using our Sciton Broadband Light (BBL) machine. BBL technology is a non-invasive, it is used to treat various skin conditions and blemishes. BBL works by generating pulsed light at adjustable wavelengths.
With little recovery time, BBL offers a safe, FDA-cleared option for sun damage, anti-aging, and skin rejuvenation.
WHAT DOES BBL TREAT?
Our face is often what people first notice about us. It’s also one of the main areas of our body that immediately gives away our age. Years of unprotected sun exposure, harsh cleansers and the process of aging, making it look dull and wrinkled.
This light energy allows to precisely treat fine wrinkles, sunspots, acne, small facial veins and several other skin blemishes. Your treatment will be tailored to match your skin’s condition and your desired results by Dr Chau during your consultation with him.
Commonly Treated Areas:
- Face and Neck
- Chest
- Arm & Hand
- Legs
Commonly Treated Conditions:
- Uneven Skin Tone
- Skin Firmness
- Vascular Lesions (e.g. small blood vessels)
- Pigmented Lesions (e.g. age spots, freckles)
- Acne
- Hair Removal
HOW DOES BBL WORK?
The light energy delivered by the BBL will gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate new collagen. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, blending its natural colors and making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking.
In addition, the photothermal energy will eliminate fine vessels that cause redness and reduce unwanted pigmentation that produces pigmented lesions.
The machine is equipped with advanced cooling features, allowing the use of high-powered energy with minimal discomfort. Numbing cream can be applied on individuals who find the treatment uncomfortable, but it’s typically unnecessary.
CELEVENUS USES THE SCITON BBL MACHINE FOR THE FOLLOWING INDICATIONS:
ANTI-PIGMENTATION
Patients with pigmentation, sunspots and age-spots. Treated sunspots will start to darken right away, and within the course of the following few days they will begin to slough themselves off to reveal clear new skin underneath.
TELANGIECTASIA
Also known as spider veins, these are small, dilated blood vessels that occur close to the surface of the skin – usually on the face, around the nose, chin and cheeks. Sciton BBL machine can be used to provide targeted treatment to improve the appearance of these tiny dilated or broken blood vessels and the treatment is usually included with the Foto facial.
ACNE
Sciton Broadband Light reduces the P.acnes bacteria that are one of the factors causing acne. It also reduces oil production from the sebaceous glands and strengthens the skin around pores and glands to reduce pores and blackheads.
BBL™ (BROADBAND BASED LIGHT)
The treatment optimally delivers infrared and visible light, penetrating through the epidermis and dermis and stimulating changes at the molecular level and visible changes in the dermis. Used to effectively correct ageing or damaged skin, including photo-aging, vascular and pigmented lesions, erythema and flushing.
BBL BARE™
Hair removal for face, armpits, legs, bikini & Brazilian area. The trademarked BBL Bare™ treatment sends multiple lower fluence pulses at a high repetition rate, resulting in a highly effective, safe and comfortable hair-removal treatment.
SCITON BROADBAND LIGHT (BBL™) FOR ACNE
Broad Based Light (BBL™) has proven to be helpful in the treatment of acne. In many cases, this offers an alternative to oral medications such as Accutane or long-term antibiotics. The shorter wavelengths of BBL™, in the blue-light spectrum, attack p-acne bacteria on the surface and in the sebaceous gland. Along with a home skincare program designed for acne-prone skin, you can experience significant long-term clearance.
WHAT OPTIONS DO I HAVE BESIDES ORAL MEDICATIONS?
Broad Based Light (BBL™) has proven to be helpful in the treatment of acne. Microdermabrasion and chemical peels also offer alternative ways to remove persistent and stubborn acne.
HOW DOES THE BBL™ TREATMENT WORK?
Sciton BBL™ is FDA approved treatment that utilizes a blue filter to selectively target the p-acnes bacteria that are partially responsible for acne in the skin. A 2nd pass with a red filter helps to reduce redness and deeper acne lesions. A third filter is used to minimize sebaceous gland activity associated with oil production.
WHAT IS THE TREATMENT LIKE?
A thin film of gel is applied to your skin, followed by the BBL treatment. Most patients have minimal discomfort. Treatment sessions last 10 minutes.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?
After treatment is completed, some may experience temporary reddening and minimal swelling of the acne, and surrounding skin for 1-2 days. This is not permanent and usually with minimal to no downtime. Makeup can be applied immediately, if there’s a need to.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
To achieve maximum improvement with BBL™, a series of 4 treatments every 2 weeks is most effective. Most patients will need periodic touch up treatments ranging from monthly to every 6 months, depending on your acne type and severity.
